What is a ‘Chartered Accountant’?

You may have noticed that I am listed as a ‘chartered accountant’ on my websites, social media and LinkedIn profile. This means I am a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ).

I’ve been a Chartered Accountant for many years, and I’m dedicated to upholding their standard of work in my own accounting firm.

CA ANZ choose their members based on many different criteria, including:

  • All members must earn one of our three designations, which means they have already completed a significant amount of study and practical work experience by the time they are qualified.
  • Members keep up to date with changes affecting the business and finance industry through ongoing professional development.
  • They’re also required to maintain high ethical and professional standards whether they work in business or practice.

“All members are recognised as qualified Chartered Accountants, Associated Chartered Accountants or Accounting Technicians. That means they have undertaken a significant amount of study and practice experience to gain their membership status.” – CA ANZ
